Maya has the typical setup that you would expect from a nightclub in Soho, with modern looking décor and one dance floor that is lined by lounge areas, the décor is not something that will stick out in your mind. However, the Maya like many underground Soho hot spots should not be taken lightly as celebrities from Rupert Everett to Lady Gaga to Paris Hilton to Lindsey Lohan have been spotted at Maya which is often tagged as London’s answer to New York City night clubs. Thus, while the décor may not be outstanding it is one of the hottest places to be in London right now, and with a £1000 per table minimum it joins the top places you want to be list for active nightclub enthusiasts.
Inside the Maya nightclub
This vibrant little club is known for its glamorous and controversy, but inside you will not see a while lot that emulates the image. With glass mirror collages throughout the walls of the club the basic setup is one large dance floor surrounding by futuristic circular lounges and square or circle black tables. The mirrored crystal bar in the back is impressive, but not so much out of the ordinary although rumour has it that the house drinks from Maya are well worth the large bill.

Part of the charm of the Maya nightclub relates to the punk nightclub scene, in which finding the perfect gem has nothing to do with it actually being a stunning nightclub. Instead, the thrill lies in discovering the celebrity hang out that most people have not yet latched onto making it the place to be simply because it is. Due to the raucous mix of people who visit the Maya you never know exactly what you will find on any night, but you know there will be at least one notable person and a heck a lot of fun!
