The Volstead Nightclub

The Volstead nightclub reminds a visitor of a café, which is fitting given that Volstead, is considered one of London’s most boutique-esq nightclubs.  While the design may be more fitting for a shopping area, with a high spending minimum and a wealth of celebrity visitors such as Madonna, Lindsey Lohan, and Paris Hilton it easily maintains it status of glamour and a place to check out for a fresh modern alternative to the over-designed nightclubs of the later 2000’s.

Inside the Volstead Nighclub

With simple wooden flooring and plush booth lounge areas the inside of the popular nightclub is not immediately striking, until you look up to view the wide pillar work that angles down from the sides of the dance floor.  The silver lampposts are also a nice touch radiating out a nice mix of warm white lights mixed with blue light over the solid wood flooring.  Marble pillars are also in place with white and green speckled patterns that match the velvet green booths with patchwork red velvet footstools to boot.

What to expect at Volstead

The décor may be somewhat demure, but there is nothing demure about the music or the crowd that frequents the Volstead nightclub.  A smart mix of funky house music and electro beats quickly heat up the dance floor where almost everything goes since the space is tight and the lounge areas are literally a footstep away.
The close proximity of the nightclub does not give it a cramped feeling, but more adds to the rush of the activity where you can find London’s hottest singles mixing it up almost every night of the week.  While you may feel as if you are taking a step back in the UK’ social history when you observe the subdued design this is not a vibe you will feel for long once you pick up the natural ambience of the crowd.

Location of Volstead

Located at 9 Swallow Street the Volstead night club is easily accessed via the Piccadilly Circus tube station.  Be sure to show up looking smart and glamorous because the dress code is strict and space inside is limited.
